These resources were developed by Research in Practice for Adults in partnership with carers, and were commissioned by the Department of Health.
Across the UK, 6.5 million people are carers, providing unpaid support to someone who is older, disabled or unwell. Social workers have the expertise and values to play a vital role in ensuring that carers receive the practical and emotional support that they need. These resources aim to strengthen social work practice with carers through evidence-informed learning and development. They can be used by social workers and by those who support them to enable learning, reflection and changes to practice.
