Professional Capabilities Framework sets out the overarching capabilities for social workers in any role at any point in their career.
There are specific considerations around working with people who have particular life experiences. These require additional capabilities. There are statements of these for:
- Social work with older people
- Social work with adults who have learning disabilities (forthcoming)
- Social work with people with adults with autism (forthcoming)
The Knowledge and Skills Statement for social workers in adult services sets out the knowledge and skills that are expected of qualified social workers in adult services.
Social workers who supervise others in adult services should meet these Post-qualifying Standards.
All social workers need to work in strengths-based ways with adults. This resource helps to build expertise in strengths-based approaches.
